Version 1.0-draft โ for Owner/lawyer review. A full cookie consent management platform (CMP) / web banner is out of scope for this release (see product roadmap).
What Are Cookies?
You have probably seen those "cookie banners" on every website. But what are cookies, really? They are small text files that Your browser stores when You visit a site. Some remember that You are logged in, others remember Your language preference, and some (not ours yet) track usage for analytics.
Similar technologies include local storage (key-value data in Your browser) and tracking pixels. On IMM, we keep it minimal.
What Cookies IMM Uses
Here is an honest breakdown:
- Essential (strictly necessary): Session cookies and CSRF tokens that Drupal needs for login, form submission, and security. Without these, authenticated features simply do not work โ You could not log in or submit a support form.
- Functional / Preferences: Language negotiation via path prefix (
/ru,/fr) may store or imply a language preference so pages stay in Your chosen language across visits. - Analytics / Marketing: Not enabled by default in this release. If we add analytics or marketing cookies later, this Policy and any consent UI will be updated before activation โ You will have a choice.
Third-Party Cookies
Currently, this draft assumes no optional third-party marketing cookies. If future embeds or processors set cookies (for example, map providers, analytics tools, or payment processors), they will be listed here after legal review โ with clear opt-in/opt-out where required by law.
Mobile App โ Not Browser Cookies
The IMM mobile app does not use traditional browser cookies. Instead, it uses on-device storage for:
- Authentication tokens and session state (so You stay logged in between app launches).
device_idfor guest consent audit and "Delete my data" functionality.- UI preferences and dismissible notices (for example, a one-time explanation of what device_id means).
- Cached feed data and settings for faster loading and limited offline resilience.
These are not classic HTTP cookies, but they serve related purposes. The Privacy Policy covers the processing details.
How to Control Cookies
- Browser (website): You can clear or block cookies in Your browser settings. Most browsers let You block all cookies, block only third-party cookies, or delete them on exit. Blocking essential cookies will prevent login and form submission on the IMM website.
- App: Uninstalling the app or using in-app "Delete my data" / account deletion removes or stops using associated local identifiers according to the deletion flow described in the Privacy Policy.
Need help with browser settings? Search for "manage cookies" in Your browser's help (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge all have dedicated pages).
What Happens If You Disable Cookies
If You block essential cookies on the IMM website:
- You will not be able to log in.
- Forms (contact, support) may not submit correctly.
- CSRF protection may block actions for security reasons.
Browsing public content without authentication may still work, but interactive features will be limited.
Changes to This Policy
We may revise this Policy when technology or law changes. Material changes will update the version string and be reflected in Settings metadata. If we introduce new cookie categories that require consent, You will be informed before they are activated.
